It was a huge surprise to the children in Year Six just how large their individual ecological footprints are. They discovered that to sustain the lifestyle they currently enjoy, the majority of them would require nearly four Earths. They learned that all of the driving and flying they do with their families and the immense amount of electronic equipment they use, has an impact on our Earth that is absolutely devastating.

Over the next few weeks we will be finding solutions that will help reduce our footprints. The children can be seen conducting their research on the tablets that were kindly funded by our PTA. What I love about these photographs is the intensity and focus of the children as they are completely engaged in the activity that they have been presented with. I look forward to hearing their solutions on how we can reduce our carbon footprints.
