Reception Class have enjoyed learning about squirrels and hedgehogs this week, especially the preparations these creatures make as winter approaches. The children decided to lend a hand and build some warm and cosy homes to provide extra shelter for the dark days and long, cold nights that lie ahead.

They tested their ideas with toy animals first so that they could evaluate, adapt and perfect their designs. After lots of talking, team work and plenty of trial and error, everyone was happy - especially all the woodland wildlife who were watching, waiting and preparing to move straight in!
