As part of their Geography topic on ‘Direction’ Year Three went into the playground to learn about the ‘eight cardinal points’ N/NE/NW/S/SE/SW/E/W and how a compass works.

They saw that the red dial on their compasses always points to the North, no matter which direction the children turned to face, due to the ‘Magnetic North’.

They then played different direction games.
