Little Gems Nursery at Clevelands Prep Celebrates "Good" Rating in Inspection

Little Gems Nursery at Clevelands Preparatory School in Bolton, is proud to announce that it has been awarded a "Good" rating in all areas by Ofsted following an inspection on January 30, 2025. This achievement underscores the nursery's dedication to delivering high-quality education, nurturing personal development, and strong leadership and management.

Little Gems Nursery provides care and education for children aged 6 months upwards and is an integral part of Clevelands Preparatory School, which offers a continuous educational journey up to the age of 11. This seamless transition from early years to prep school education ensures consistent development within a familiar and nurturing learning environment. The school’s exceptional 11 Plus provision further supports pupils in preparing for future academic success.  Ofsted recognised this transition: “The nursery links well with the school. Children attend play sessions there, and older children eat their lunch in the school dining hall. This ensures that children get all the help they need and have a smooth transition into school.”

Ofsted Praises Warm and Inspiring Learning Environment

The Ofsted report commended Little Gems Nursery at Clevelands Prep for its warm, supportive environment where children feel safe, secure, and excited to learn. Inspectors highlighted the thoughtfully designed curriculum, which includes Forest School experiences and outdoor learning, helping children develop curiosity, resilience, and a love for nature.

Parental engagement was also recognised as a key strength, with Ofsted praising the strong communication between staff and families. Parents spoke highly of the nursery’s nurturing and stimulating environment, emphasising its role in shaping confident and happy learners. “There is constant communication between parents and staff regarding children's time at the setting.”

The dedicated staff were also praised for their kind and caring nature, with one standout comment noting:
“Kind and caring staff greet children and their families with smiles and know them well.”
